Blake Lueders

While I think that VT has a great shot at landing the 6'5" 240 lb DE from Indiana, it's starting to become much more of an uphill battle for his services. I've heard through the grapevine that Lueders really enjoyed his recent visit to ND and there are some serious schools in the Midwest that are sweating him badly.

Currently, Billy Hite is recruiting Lueders. Not saying that this will mean that we won't land him, but Hite normally does better at recruiting the players that are from the old boys network (like SW VA). We really need DE depth this year, and Lueders looks like the type of guy who could come in and play right away. Another plus for VT here is, at least from what I've heard, that Lueders enjoys the "good-ole-boy" attitude and is really laid back. I think he will really appreciate our coaches' attitude and style.

As with other recruits, the fact that Lueders mentions VT in almost all of his articles proves that the coaching staff is really reaching out this year.
